Xue Jiquan, a native of Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, was born in July 1956. Since childhood, he has been fond of calligraphy and painting. He has studied calligraphy by four famous masters of ancient Yan, Liu, Ou and Zhao, and practiced the calligraphy of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi. Brush strokes: take the spirit as the top, sometimes as fast as the wind, sometimes as stable as Mount Tai; like drunk but not drunk, like painting but not painting, eclectic, "both shape and quality", based on the strokes that echo each other, with dynamic beauty vividly; Live without escaping the Dharma, bold and rigorous, vivid in charm, and highlight the "literary feeling and painting"; integrating the essence of ancient and modern painting and calligraphy art, it is self-contained. He was appraised as "National Senior Calligrapher" by "People's Republic of China Senior Professional Title" and "National Senior Artist Title Evaluation Committee". 2018年書法代表作毛澤東的《清平樂(lè)六盤山》詩(shī)詞以及個(gè)人題詞《長(zhǎng)城精神 永傳萬(wàn)代》鐫刻在萬(wàn)里長(zhǎng)城（北京八達(dá)嶺新長(zhǎng)城）墻壁上永久展示。

書法是極為講究高古的一門藝術(shù)。所謂高古，在當(dāng)下許多人的書法概念里，至多是口頭上的言說(shuō)，并不是卓勁的追及。唯有當(dāng)代著名書法家薛濟(jì)權(quán)先生的書法磨礪，從理論和實(shí)踐兩個(gè)層面同功并進(jìn)，徑入翰墨高古的正宗境界，成為碑帖修上品，書法寫一流的大手筆。所以，站在他的書法作品面前仰觀，時(shí)而秦時(shí)方圓，時(shí)而漢時(shí)雄樸，唐法嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)，宋意風(fēng)流，凡屬書法的高古品格，無(wú)一而遺！縱觀其書，諸書皆成，恰如目游翰墨流源三千年，高古氣度，精美灼輝，美不勝收！
